the bible: new testament
in the last worldview lesson, we learned that there are two main sections of
our library (the bible), the old testament and the new testament. there are
thirty - nine books in the old testament and twenty - seven books in the new
testament — sixty - six books in all. no more, no less.
the books of the old testament (the old agreement or covenant)
were written primarily to the jewish people before the time of jesus
incarnation on earth. through the death and resurrection of jesus,
the terms of the old covenant were perfectly fulfilled and the new
agreement or covenant (the new testament) between god and man
began.
under the new covenant, faith is demonstrated by belief in jesus, his work on the cross, and his
resurrection, whereas faith was demonstrated under the old covenant by obedience and observance of
god’s law.
the new covenant correlates with the books of the new testament.
using your bible, write the names of the twenty - seven books of the new testament below.
