logistics:

the first lecture exam will be administered in class on tuesday june 30. if you cant come to class, please contact me as soon as possible to arrange another day or time. from 9:00-10:00 there will be catch-up and last-minute review: all questions are invited. from 10:00-12:00 you may work on the exam. most people will not need a full hour to complete it.

the lecture exam will be printed on paper and the questions will be in traditional formats (multiple choice, matching, labeling, short answers). after you are done, i will mark any wrong answers.

models and histology posters will be available in the adjacent room for those who want to review for the lab exam after they are done with the lecture exam.

the lab exam is on thursday july 2. one group will start 8:30 am. a second group will start at 9:30. you will find ~20 stations set up in lab 502. much like the lab quizzes, the lab practical exam will involve identification and answering questions about visual materials: models, slides, and the equipment you have used (e.g. parts of the microscope), with an emphasis on cells and microanatomical structures. the exam is not timed. most people will be done in under an hour.

when you are done with your lab exam, your lecture exam will be returned to you. you will have the opportunity to correct it for an additional half point per correction. you may use your textbook (the recommended first resource), your notes, or the internet, but you may not confer with peers. if you use outside references (e.g. the internet), you must provide a reference, at least a url, for the source. i need to be able to check any questionable information.
