Question

the is a very dark period in history. it is important to study and learn from the horrible crimes that took place during world war ii. persecute holocaust ghetto

Explanation:

The sentence is about a dark period in history during World War II with horrible crimes. The Holocaust was the systematic, state - sponsored persecution and murder of six million Jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators during WWII, which fits the description. "Persecute" is a verb, not a period, and "Ghetto" refers to a part of a city where Jews were forced to live, not the overall dark period of crimes.

Answer:

Holocaust
