Question

understanding the origin of innovations
what statement best describes the yongle encyclopedia that originated during the ming dynasty?
it was a comprehensive code of laws.
it was a collection of prayers translated by catholic missionaries.
it was a collection of information on astronomy, geography, technology, art, and more.
it was a comprehensive medical book describing thousands of herbs and drugs and their uses.

Explanation:

The Yongle Encyclopedia (Yongle Dadian) was a massive compilation of various types of knowledge. It included information from fields like astronomy, geography, technology, art, literature, and more. The first option is incorrect as it's not a law code. The second is wrong as it has no relation to Catholic missionary prayer translations. The fourth is incorrect as it's not a medical text (that would be something like Ben Cao Gang Mu). The third option accurately describes the Yongle Encyclopedia as a comprehensive collection of diverse knowledge.

Answer:

It was a collection of information on astronomy, geography, technology, art, and more.
