Question

review the information for a website that a student intends to include on a works cited page.
web address: www.arborday2014.org
name of website: a day for trees
organization: u.s. department of agriculture
author: not provided
date of publication: january 10, 2014
date accessed: april 18, 2014
using mla guidelines, what information should be listed first in the citation for this source?
○ the web address
○ the name of the website
○ the organization
○ a place holder

Explanation:

In MLA citation for a website with no author, the name of the website is listed first. Here, the author is not provided, so we start with the website's name ("A Day for Trees"). The web address is not first, the organization is not the first element here, and a placeholder isn't used in this case.

Answer:

B. the name of the website
