Question

one way to determine theme is to... think about what the character has learned. read the ending of the story. skim through the story. read the first paragraph.

Explanation:

To determine a story's theme, analyzing what a character has learned is effective because a character's growth/lessons often reflect the story's central message. Skimming, reading just the ending, or first paragraph is insufficient for theme (needs understanding character development/lessons).

Answer:

think about what the character has learned.
