Question

1. why is the city of jerusalem important?

jerusalem has become the center of industry for palestinian arabs.
jerusalem is the center of commerce in southwest asia
jerusalem has religious significance for judaism, christianity, and islam.
jerusalem is a major port and the center of trade for israel.
clear all

Explanation:

To determine why Jerusalem is important, we analyze each option:

• The first option is incorrect as Jerusalem is not the industrial center for Palestinian Arabs.
• The second option is wrong because cities like Dubai or other commercial hubs in Southwest Asia are more prominent for commerce, not Jerusalem.
• The third option is correct. Jerusalem is a holy city with religious significance: it is the location of the Western Wall (Judaism), the site of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection (Christianity), and has the Al - Aqsa Mosque (Islam).
• The fourth option is incorrect as Jerusalem is not a port city; Israel's major ports are like Haifa.

Answer:

The option "Jerusalem has religious significance for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam." (the third option among the given choices)
