Question

after your detailed analysis of the flyers, you vote for the food drive as the next club project. now, you need to decide on what kind of food drive. at the club, you and the other members put together information on two types of food drives, based on everyones ideas and research.

one type of drive focuses on collecting canned goods to support local food banks, while the other encourages donations of fresh produce to provide additional options for families in need. to choose between the two, you decide to compare the information you and the other members collected. \what are the goals of each food drive?\ \how are the ideas similar, and how are they different?\ and \which drive has more convincing reasons for its approach?\

you ask yourself, \what are two similarities and two differences between the food drives described in the collected information?\

• both food drives only ask for donations from local stores, but one is about nonperishable items, and the other is about desserts.
• both food drives are about helping the environment, but one focuses on planting trees, and the other focuses on recycling.
• both food drives involve canned goods, but one focuses on helping families, and the other focuses on helping club members.
• both food drives will help families in need, and encourage donations from the community. one focuses on canned goods, while the other focuses on fresh produce.

Explanation:

To solve this, we analyze each option against the food drive descriptions:

• First option: The drives aren't about desserts or only local stores (the fresh produce drive likely takes community donations, not just stores), so incorrect.
• Second option: The food drives are about helping families, not the environment, so incorrect.
• Third option: The fresh produce drive doesn't involve canned goods, and neither is about helping club members, so incorrect.
• Fourth option: Both aim to help families in need and get community donations. One focuses on canned goods, the other on fresh produce, matching the descriptions.

Answer:

D. Both food drives will help families in need, and encourage donations from the community. One focuses on canned goods, while the other focuses on fresh produce.
