Question

question 9 of 10
which of these is something stage directions typically do?

a. summarize the scene.

b. reveal what line comes next.

c. list the characters.

d. tell the actors how to react.

Explanation:

Stage directions in a play typically provide instructions for actors' movements, expressions, and reactions (e.g., "She gasps in surprise"). Option A is incorrect as summarizing the scene is not a stage direction's role. Option B is wrong because revealing the next line is part of the script's dialogue, not stage directions. Option C is incorrect as listing characters is part of the cast list or character introduction, not stage directions.

Answer:

D. Tell the actors how to react.
