Question

drag each label to the correct location. determine if each event most directly affects the geosphere or the biosphere. mining of gold, iron, and silver mold growing on a plant an earthquake leads to the formation of a new mountain deforestation geosphere biosphere

Explanation:

• Mining of gold, iron, and silver: This activity involves extracting minerals from the Earth's crust (geosphere).
• Mold growing on a plant: Mold (a living organism) interacting with a plant (another living organism) directly affects the biosphere.
• An earthquake leads to the formation of a new mountain: Earthquakes are geological processes that modify the Earth's physical structure (geosphere).
• Deforestation: Removing trees (living organisms) directly impacts the biosphere.

Answer:

• Geosphere: mining of gold, iron, and silver; an earthquake leads to the formation of a new mountain
• Biosphere: mold growing on a plant; deforestation
