Explanation:

For "What is Sancho’s attitude toward Sterne in the passage?"

In the passage, Sancho uses phrases like "you are an epicurean in acts of charity", "universally read, and as universally admired" which show he has a positive, praising attitude toward Sterne. He is beseeching Sterne to write about slavery, highlighting Sterne's positive traits related to charity and influence, so the attitude is praising.

For "What is Sancho’s approach in the passage?" (assuming we analyze the correct option)

Sancho praises Sterne's charitable nature ("epicurean in acts of charity", "universally admired") to persuade Sterne to devote attention to slavery. He uses praise to appeal to Sterne's positive qualities and influence, aiming to get Sterne to address the issue of slavery in the West Indies.

Answer:

to praise Sterne
