Question

choose the right phrase to complete the sentence.
a key part of the mayflower compact was that the colonists
agreed to follow the rule of their leaders.
agreed to govern their colony together for the common good.
renounced their loyalty to the english king.

Explanation:

The Mayflower Compact was an agreement where the colonists decided to govern themselves together for the common good. The first option about following leaders' rules is not accurate to the Compact's focus on self - governance for the colony's well - being. The third option about renouncing loyalty to the English king is incorrect as the colonists still had loyalty at that time. The second option, "agreed to govern their colony together for the common good", aligns with the purpose of the Mayflower Compact which was to establish a form of self - government for the Plymouth Colony.

Answer:

agreed to govern their colony together for the common good
