Question

two types of spiral galaxies exist. a normal spiral galaxy is one kind. which phrase best describes the second type of spiral galaxy?
o is football - shaped
o is irregularly shaped
o has arms that start close to the center
o has a bar through the middle from which arms extend

Explanation:

There are two main types of spiral galaxies: normal spirals and barred - spirals. Barred - spiral galaxies have a bar - shaped structure through the middle from which the spiral arms extend. A football - shaped description doesn't fit spiral galaxies. Irregularly shaped is for irregular galaxies, not a type of spiral. Having arms start close to the center is a general feature of spirals but doesn't distinguish the second type.

Answer:

has a bar through the middle from which arms extend
