Question

read the excerpt from the odyssey.
my men stood up and made a fight of it—
backed on the ships, with lances kept in play,
from bright morning through the blaze of noon
so holding our beach, although so far outnumbered;
but when the sun passed toward unyoking time,
then the achaeans, one by one, gave way.
which values of the ancient greeks are most emphasized in this excerpt?
exercise and physical fitness \t\t\thospitality and friendliness
bravery and perseverance \t\t\tfreedom and democracy

Explanation:

The excerpt describes Odysseus' men fighting against outnumbered odds, holding their beach from morning to noon. This shows they face danger bravely (bravery) and keep fighting for a long time (perseverance). "Exercise and physical fitness" is not shown, "hospitality and friendliness" is irrelevant, and "freedom and democracy" are not themes here.

Answer:

bravery and perseverance
