Question

question 2 of 10
which action did john muir take that brought about green awareness?

a. he founded the sierra club.

b. he wrote wildlife and survival guides for nature enthusiasts.

c. he created the environmental protection agency.

d. he identified the connection between pesticides and cancer.

Explanation:

John Muir, a key figure in environmentalism, co-founded the Sierra Club in 1892. This organization played a pivotal role in advocating for wilderness preservation and raising public "green awareness" about environmental conservation. Option B is incorrect as his works focused on nature writing, not survival guides; Option C is wrong because the EPA was established in 1970, long after Muir's death; Option D refers to Rachel Carson's work, not Muir's. Thus, founding the Sierra Club is the correct action.

Answer:

A. He founded the Sierra Club.
