Question

geography is a __ field of study that is concerned with __.
a. unified; making maps
b. widely varied; publishing
c. widely varied; describing our world
d. narrowly focused; mapping continents

Explanation:

Geography studies various aspects like physical features, human - environment interactions, cultures etc., so it is a widely varied field. Its main aim is to describe the world (including physical and human elements). Making maps (A) is just a part of geography, not the entire concern. Publishing (B) is not related to the core of geography. Mapping continents (D) is too narrow as geography is more than just that.

Answer:

C. widely varied; describing our world
